Around Town

Darjeeling, with its fresh air and terrain that makes exercise unavoidable, is home to many boarding schools. Many of these were popular with Europeans, who lived and worked in the subcontinent. St. michael’s school for girls and st paul’s school for boys, both equally famous, were Anglican church schools, and once catered primarily to those belonging to church of England, who preferred not to send their children to the catholic schools in the region. While Darjeeling has no shortage of options for accommodation, the hotel aliment is a special treat. Its location in the lap of thehimalayas offers a panoramic view of khangchendzonga, and the town of Darjeeling. But whether you’re interested in education, a little downtime or some splendid scenery, Darjeeling is definitely your cup of tea.
