Tripura

The first stop in tripura will invariably be at agartala, the capital city, of which the most prominent landmark is the ujjayanta palace. Built in the indo-saracenic style and spread over 800 acres inclusive of artificial lakes, this vast, splendid property was commissioned by maharaja radha kishore manikya during 1899-1901. another must-visit is unakoti, one of the brahmaputra. A shaiba pilgrimage spot that dates back between the seventh and ninth centuries, it has marvelous rock carvings, murals and waterfalls. For bird watchers and watersport enthusiasts, dumboor lake is the perfect place. The river gomati originates from a hydel project near the lake. No trip to tripura is complete without a shopping expedition to agartala’s main shopping street.
